The Weekly Top 5: May 30, 2008

There follows an arbitrary and partial list of the five things I most enjoyed on the Internet this week. It is neither voted for, crowdsourced, comprehensive nor exhaustive. I hope you enjoy it nonetheless.

1. Food Fight
Food Fight is an abridged history of American wars from World War II until the present day, told through the foods of the countries in conflict.

2. Gary Kasparov v. The Flying Penis
No words can do justice to this one, you have to watch it.

3. One Polaroid a day
Jamie Livingston took one Polaroid a day from 1977 until the day he died in October 1997. Fascinating, poignant and moving.

4. The Alphabet Book
A prototype of a beautiful paper craft book available in the autumn. Follow the YouTube links for more.

5. Librace meets the Muppets
Saving the big production number ’til the end with entertainment from a, err, simpler time. I do hope the several ironies were intentional.
