The Weekly Top 5 Websites: June 12, 2008

There follows an arbitrary and partial list of the five things I most enjoyed on the Internet this week. It is neither voted for, crowdsourced, comprehensive nor exhaustive. I hope you enjoy it nonetheless.

1. Radiohead Nude – remixed by James Houston

Whether or not you like Radiohead’s music (I do), you can’t help but admire the way they’ve grasped the digital future and wrestled it to the ground kicking and screaming. This fantastic remix is a (late) entry to a competition run by the band.

2. I love typography
I love I love typography. You can also play guess that font while the British summer sputters and fizzles out like the damp squib it always is.

3. In Bed with Chris Needham
Chris is having trouble getting his band together for their first gig. And yes, it’s easy you laugh, but while you do, thank the Lord that there was no Greg Wilcox following your teenage self around with a video camera and broadcasting the results on national telly.

4. Reelgeezers
Two octagenarians review recent films, which is in itself vaguely noteworthy, however, what’s truly amazing is that, unlike most reviewers, they actually know something about film making.

5. Unleash the creative power within with Bomomo
John Ruskin, Victorian art critic and one time Tulse Hill resident, once wrote of art that:
“All great and beautiful work has come of first gazing without shrinking into the darkness.” How right he was. How right he was.
